The Alan Parsons Project es un grupo británico de rock progresivo formado en 1975. Estaba liderado por Alan Parsons, Eric Woolfson y en él participaron varias alineaciones de músicos, así como el arreglista y director de orquesta Andrew Powell.
Cada uno aportaba su granito de arena al grupo: Alan Parsons como productor, ingeniero y compositor; Eric Woolfson como productor ejecutivo, compositor y vocalista; y Andrew Powell como orquestador y arreglista. Además se rodearon de una serie de músicos y vocalistas para cada uno de sus proyectos entre los que se encontraban como músicos Ian Bairnson, David Paton o Stuart Elliot y como vocalistas el propio Eric Woolfson, Lenny Zakatek, John Miles, Chris Rainbow o Colin Blunstone entre muchos otros.
Lanzaron varios discos con un gran cuidado en la producción y creatividad como: Tales of Mystery and Imagination, I Robot, The Turn of a Friendly Card o Eye in the Sky; y donde se destacan temas como: "Don't Let It Show", "Time", "Eye in the Sky", "Silence & I" u "Old And Wise".
A finales de los 80, Eric Woolfson abandonó el grupo para dedicarse a componer para musicales de teatro, sin embargo volvieron a reunirse momentáneamente con el breve proyecto Freudiana. Alan Parsons ha seguido creando nuevos temas pero firmando con su nombre (sin el Project), debido a problemas con la parte de los derechos que mantenía Woolfson sobre el nombre del grupo. Actualmente en sus giras vuelve a rescatar el nombre original, con permiso de Eric, denominándose Alan Parsons Live Project.
En los años 2004-2005, Alan Parsons Live Project hizo una gira mundial para dar a conocer sus últimos proyectos y recordar los éxitos de siempre, consiguiendo el "lleno" allá donde iba.

Los Tontos fue un trío compuesto por Renzo Teflón (bajo y voz), Calvin Rodriguez (guitarra) y Trevor Podargo (batería), mejor conocido como Leonardo Baroncini (baterista de Estomagos), lo mas parecido a lo sarcastico de siniestro total o a los ilegales de españa,ellos ya no existen solo sacaron tres discos:* Los Tontos (Orfeo, 1986), Al Natural (Orfeo, 1987), Chau Jeton! (Orfeo, 1988).

Los Tontos alcanzaron el primer disco de oro y luego de platino de la historia del rock nacional. El tema "Himno de los conductores imprudentes" o como se le llamaba mas comunmente la "Canción del puré" alcanzó niveles de difusión nunca vistos. Otros éxitos fueron "El gerontocida", "La gordita 103", "Ana la del quinto" y "Pasame la escoba" . El segundo disco, llamado "Tontos al natural" (otro disco de oro) como era lo habitual se editó en vinilo y en casette. La versión en casette ¡venía adentro de una lata!.
